October Announcements
CIA Linux¶
GitLab License Change: From Ultimate to Premium¶
The biggest impact of this change will be related to the OpenShift piplines and security container scanning and dashboard. CIA Linux and InfoSec are actively looking for alternatives, and your input is welcome!
The license will be changed on October 22nd.
GitLab Infrastructure Refresh¶
GitLab will be moved from a RHEL 6 server to a RHEL 7 server. You can track the process on the GitLab issue.
RHEL 6 EOL November 10th¶
RHEL 6, first released in November 2010, is about to end the Phase 2 Maintenance support, thus marking it as End of Life.
If you have not yet begun migrating your servers to RHEL 7, please do so ASAP.
RHEL 7.9: The End of an Era¶
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9 was released last week. See the link for full details on new features and packages.
Starting this month, all RHEL 7 servers that are part of the automatic patching will be upgraded to RHEL 7.9.
This is the last release of RHEL 7.
VAS to SSSD migrations¶
CIA Linux will continue the migration away from QAS/VAS authentication towards SSSD.
If you would like your server to be fast-tracked, please let us know!
